The King’s Gambit was considered one of the most sharpest and dangerous chess openings about 100-200 years ago. Nowadays, it’s kind of forgotten, and we think that it really deserves to be brought back.
Yes, maybe you should not play it when you play a really strong opponent like Magnus Carlsen. But it works like crazy against club-level opponents! Additionally, most chess players are not very familiar with this opening. Even if they are familiar, there’s a sideline that you can use to surprise your opponents.
You can play 1.e4 e5 2.f4 exf4 3.Bc4 – in this case, you will get your opponents out of their opening knowledge and get a powerful resulting position. Watch the following video lesson where GM Igor Smirnov has explained the overall idea of this opening for White, and you can use it to win your opponents.

My favorite YouTube chess channel, thank you Igor, you're the best!
My favorite opening.
Try against stronger players or the computer. White must have lost!
at 4:34 Nf7 will win the Queen
1stt
just check the king and take the queen
What if Blacks Knight move to H5 defending the pawn instead of G4 advance?
Nice i did know this move
What abot 2.d5?
tell me the winning move
Kg6 check them Q takes Q…
Nxf2+ and Black loses the Queen so that White wins easily. Is it right?
Very great explanations, love this channel
Very good! Thanks!
Very good explanation. Thanks.
At 4:38 – Nxe7 is winning for white
FAVOURITE chess channel
Hello I don't have any website but I'm so interested to join and be part of it..I'm a chess lover and I love teaching young ones for free.. I want them to learn and see the beauty of playing chess
This gambit is so hard you can easily make a blunder
Bishop h6
@4:35, White would play Nxf7 check. As the king has no safe square, black has to play Bxf7 or Rxf7, after which Qxc7 takes the black queen!
If it's risky for king side castle then can we go long castle..?
I just showed a good way for Black to play against the King's Gambit. (accepting the pawn and then quickly giving a pawn back with …d5)

Bh6 Kxf7 queen takes queen
Nxf7+, QxQ
But this opening sucks. Here's my game against computer level 8 (2900 ELO) on lichess:
1.e4 e5 2.f4 exf4 3.d4 Qh4+ 4.Ke2 Qe7 5.Qd3 Nf6 6.Kf3 d5 7.exd5 Bg4+ 8.Kxf4 g5+ 9.Kxg5 h5 10.Kf4 Nxd5+ 11.Kg3 Qe1#. Result is 0-1.
I've done that purposely in order to show that King's Gambit is worthless.
Bro Knight to h7 rook takes and white can take the queen
Very good,thanks
Great!
For 4:39 do bishop h7
old path
Bh6
Knight takes pawn checking the King and creating a discover3d attack on the Queen
Bishop to b4 at 4:37??
Man he miss a fork on Nd5
H6
Bh6 Rg8 , Nxf7+ Bxf7 , Qx c7
