About this video:
This is the start of a series where I play games against players from different rating levels, starting at 600 to 800 and working all the way up to 2200. I try to focus on the thought process behind the moves I’m making. You will learn all sorts of chess strategies, chess tactics, chess ideas, and chess concepts. I talk about how to think during a chess game and what the thought process should be.
Cant wait for the 1000-1200 part. I improved a lot lately and i noticed when i blunder its in a more complex way that a lot of times my opponent miss it. My other main mistake is having a threat and try to generate counterplay and end up losing in the exchange.
Also i want to say between 900-1000 its a mess. You either encounter someone really bad or new accounts that are climbing and are really good. Its full of anomalies
This was so enjoyable. You're very good at voicing your thoughts, this can definitely help me improve 😃
Aw man amazing content thank you!
I'm a beginner and spending quite a bit of learn chess during a covid quarantine. Haven't found a better youtube chess channel yet…!
At 2:51, why did you not take the rook since you would lose the Queen regardless?
I think there was a decent (potential) way out on the last game. Instead of playing f6 they could have captured your knight with their queen. An easy oversight would be to capture queen with queen, which would have let black knock your queen around the board a bit more, whereas taking the quuen with the pawn would secure a mate. Just a thought for anyone wanting to try that attack (or defend it)
Around 2:56 Be4?
underrated
Thanks! I like how you explain your thoughts process in a way that beginners like me can understand without using too many references to maneuvers that I haven't studied yet.
Why did he not played bishop on e4 at 2:56? I am prob not seeing something because I’m a 600-700
These demonstrations on how strong players think are always instructive and entertaining to watch, thanks.
8:21 – the end of the first game – how is it check mate? His king isn't even in check
The second game, cant Queen just take Knight to prevent checkmate?
Starting the series now. Great content man keep it up!
Isn’t that bishop taking the pawn one of the most famous blunders ever? I feel like Bobby Fischer did that
On 2:50 Sec, can we play Be4.
Great vid, have been outta chess for a while and this vid helps me back
This channel should have more subs and likes! This channel will help people improve A LOT! Please make more of these videos similar to this and videos that help people improve.
Chess gets me so mad sometimes lol I read a book and thought I was gonna be good lol but every time I lose I just have to remind myself I’m exactly where I should be…. The best explication I’ve heard for it is it’s like learning a new language
Love these ratings climb videos. Please continue commentary on your games so we can observe the thought patterns.
Thanks 🙏🏾
2:57 wouldn't it be best to move bishop to e4? im pretty new at chess and just wondering why you didn't do that
Do you have a video for <600? I… can't break past 450 ELO.
12:10 he had to sac his queen 👑
Thoroughly enjoyed! Just starting chess and playing with grandkids. Thank you
Thanks a lot man. These are really helpful.
Is it me or was that first guy a little strong for a 700 player?
That's pretty good I like how you explain how you think give me something to think about thumbs up keep up the good work
Hey Nelson! I've only been learning chess for a few weeks, and i have to admit youre one of my favorite content creators! you're super nice and very explanatory in theory and everything man, you've helped me learn a lot, thanks!
Another great video!
You make it so simple! Amazing!
Under 1600, these 650 players I play are very hard to consistently beat. I wouldn't call them beginners, their moves are sophisticated and well planned.
Thx
2:59 be4
This is very useful .. thanks
Such good videos!
You're a goddamn smurf 😠😡
omg you sound like Chris Pratt, great video btw
Just want to say since watching your series and others like it, I've ranked up from 750 to 900. I'm super happy about my improvement and am actually beating 900-1000 level players which I never thought I could do
2:42 Be4 and I think the rook would've been lost
9:17 Pin & breaking the pin: when 2 chess pieces are attacking the same square
11:19 Attacking and thought process
How tf is it a checkmate at 12:20
Thank you! Tried to watch a lot of dense videos today and felt like I was just getting deeper into a rut, this is the one that pulled me out…
Thank you brother, thanks to studying many techniques, tips, traps and tricks that you've shared, I have now increased in my tactical awareness, positioning play and overall my rating has gone up +400 (used to be a 400, now Im an 800 rated player). Keep making videos like this, its so relaxing to watch and learn from.
After watching your video about breaking 600 I always win. So I watch it every day now 😺
At 2:50, would it have been a good to do Be4? If Qxf7, Bxf7, then the rook is still won. If Qxe4, you just win a queen a rook. If any other move like Ke7, you still win a queen.
Great training!
What is rule "thum"? If I hear right
6:09 how can the rook pin you when you can take it with the king?
