  1. it's killing me that they don't make eye contact when they do a handshake

  2. There is no such thing as "too many lines"

  3. I'm not a conspiracy theorist of any type, so it's no knock on him, but it seems like so many times players THROW AWAY winning positions against Nepo. You have a point that there's some kind of psychological block that people have. Maybe that's Carlsen's advantae vs. Nepo: he's not intimidated and he just doesnt give enough of a damn to care.

  4. This is why Nepo tricks doesnt work on magnus. Magnus see nepo as just another decent player and he doesnt believe any of his bluff.

Ding too.. he is weak but he dont believe bluff either.

  5. What a game! Thanks for the recap. And Nepo was kind of emotional, too. One could have the impression, that he felt a bit sorry for Vidit.

  6. Nepo is excellent player but his childish behaviour during the game is really disgusting … I saw many times his face reactions in game make the other player very disappointed… if u be a chess player u will totally understand my point. If even u r winner but still be a true gentleman.

  7. I'm a convert to the Nepo cause, bro..

  8. Sad, the best player in this tournament had no shot against Magnus. Paper champions unless/until Magnus decides to compete again.

  10. I just wish that Nepo is now ready because sometimes you wonder if he is just a king of candidates and a let down in the championship match

  11. Just imagining Abdusatarov in place of Nijat , this candidates would have been just ❤❤

  12. I can sit through levy blitz through most games but your reviews are always the best, showing the ideas behind every move and looking at different variations in the position much love big man you're bringing chess to the people

  13. Vidit down to 6min and not even half of the video through ❤

  14. You have these stupid clocks up and they're not even working. STOP using them

  15. So excruciating for vidit. Congratulations Ian

  16. So glad that you put the video at the end. It was a very fitting reaction to this game

  17. This game reminded of some of the games between Kramnik-Kasparov in their Championship Match where the Queens were off the board and square control was of prime importance. Nepo is now like Alekhine in that, as Alekhine once said, you have to beat me in the opening, then the middlegame and then the ending. He seems to rise up to time pressure better than others in Classical play.

  18. Jajaja an artist and not a butcher. Ídolo.

  19. A lot of petrovs we got in this candidates

  20. Vidit looks at Nepo at the end like he stole something.

  21. I feel sorry for Vidit, it was Gukesh suffering the other time 😞That's chess at the highest level.

  22. Almost otherwise your oppenent is Magnus

  23. Maybe vidit missed Nxd5 on purpose….😂

  24. Rxf3 was a very easy draw. Looks like VIdit kept on pushing for a win. Psychologically it's tough to switch from a "Play to win" to a "play not to lose" mentality, but indeed that's what happens when you refuse to accept you screwed up. Look at salimova and vaishali. Same thing (albeit in a very tricky position). Wasn't it bronstein that had a famous quote about it? that you end up losing more games than should if you insist on playing for a win after you miss your opportunities and lose the advantage?

  25. Luck is also a measure of skill

    Kakashi Hatake

If Nepo wins 3 times, that means he's got it

  26. “Greedy vidit” moment he could easily draw even after losing his advantage. But playing for a win under all circumstances is very brave so good thing he has that in him regardless of the outcome

  27. Vidit is as strong as gukesh and pragg. (Calculation wise)
Just his blunder rate is higher than the other 2 guys

  28. who the hell even let Abasov be in this kind of event? there is 100 players could compete for championship and they put the weakest player! that's a shame!

  29. I'm a fan of the best moves, not hot tricks and gambling

  30. Astonishing to me that Vidit not only didn't win this game, but managed to lose it, too. Not being daring when you need to be, and then being too daring when you shouldn't will get you nowhere in the highest levels of the game.

  31. Loss by lack of confidence, I'd say. He's young, though. He'll get stronger. Good game.

  32. Another agad quote for the books: “It would seem that Nepo is also an artist and not a butcher”

  33. Vidit has seriously no excuse. Even 1700 players can calculate and evaluate that 2 connected passed pawns accompanied by their king at the 6th rank vs a lone bishop is winning. It is not a far fetched PC line nor a hard evaluation, I mean come on. He was so sucked in in his tunnel vision he could only see as far as the king can move.

  34. Congratulations.
Great commentary, they both seem like nice fellas.

  35. Best match of the tournament, and one of my favorite matches.

  36. Nepo He is the most boring player at an elite level
He has no ideas for an attack and he is best at just holding and hoping his opponent doesn't pick up on his mistakes

  37. 24:40 I'd point out that apparently Rg1 was the only move in that position, even Rh1 would somehow lose (no idea why) but while Ka3 was an objective draw, it basically lost on the spot

  38. Please show the winners face on the thumb nail like you used to. I tend to watch games from my favorite players winning
